Operation BBQ Relief
Wherever disaster strikes
Operation BBQ Relief is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in May 2011 in response to the need for tornado relief after an F5 ripped through Joplin, Missouri.
Competitive pitmasters from nine states answered the call to feed displaced families and first responders. Together, they were able to serve over 120,000 meals.
This experience of building a network to feed those in need continues to be the inspiration behind Operation BBQ Relief. To date, Operation BBQ Relief has provided over 9 million meals throughout the US and internationally following natural disasters, COVID-19 response, and through The Always Serving Project, benefiting the homeless, first responders, veterans, and members of the military.
Their line rubs are individually created by the Operation BBQ Relief team and world champion pitmasters. Each are inspired by the style of bbq in the region where they deployed to provide comforting meals after a major natural disaster.
