Grilled Carrots: A Treat Where Smoky Meets Sweet

Looking for a sweet treat to pair with your grilled meats? We’re continuing our look at how to grill some BBQ sides that are sure to intrigue guests and leave them wanting more (Check out our grilled eggs!). Next up: grilled carrots — the perfect combination of sweet and smoky.

How to Grill Carrots

It can be surprisingly difficult to grill a carrot. Baby carrots might fall through the grates and it can take quite some time to grill a whole carrot. You need to find the sweet spot, and do a bias cut (see the video below) to get them just right.

Once you have the cut right, slather them in butter or oil and place them just a little bit away from the direct flames in your grill to avoid burning. Turn a few times and you’re good to go. And do you want to know the best part about grilling a carrot? They don’t get as mushy!
